It comes in the form of a pen that is injected under the skin once a week, starting from a low dose of 0.25 mg. After 4 weeks, the dose is gradually increased to 0.5 mg once weekly. The weekly dosage is then increased again to 1 mg for the final month.

Inject your dose under the skin (subcutaneously) in your stomach area (abdomen), thigh, or upper arm, using a different injection site each week when injecting in the same body region. After one month, throw the pen away and replace it with another pen for the following month's treatment.
