Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I miss a day of taking the tablet?

Take the tablet as soon as you remember, and carry on taking the tablets at the normal times. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

How do period delay tablets work?

The period delay tablets contains the hormone progesterone. In a natural female cycle, the menstrual period is triggered by a drop in the level of progesterone hormone. While you are taking the tablet, you are keeping your natural progesterone levels up and you should not have your period because it will be suppressed.

You can delay your period for up to 17 days by taking the tablets for a maximum of 20 days. Once you have finished your course, your progesterone levels return to normal and your next period usually starts again within 3 days.

Does it work as a birth control? Can I take birth control pills with period delay tablets?

Tablet does not act as a contraceptive when taken for period delay, so you could still get pregnant. It is important to consider if you need alternative contraception such as condoms.

However the tablet should not be used if you are already taking the combined contraceptive pill. In this case, you could take two packs of combined contraceptive pills back to back to skip a period, this will vary depending on the type of combined pill you use.

If you do not have a period after you finish a course of Tablets, check with your doctor in case you are pregnant.

Are there any side effects of taking the tablet? Should I be concerned by any?

Period delay tablets can cause side effects. Effects differs according to each person, so do refer to the product insert (usually found in section 4) or consult your doctor to know more. Some known common side effects are: nausea, headaches, and breast tenderness.
